මෙහෙම ගියොත් මිනිස්සු මැරෙයි... අපි එක්වෙමු...

There is a growing shortage of essential medicine and equipment in hospitals across Sri Lanka. As a result, many precious human lives are in peril and it has become imperative for all Sri Lankans to come together and support the National Hospital System.

Although many Sri Lankans living abroad were willing to help, they did not have a credible system in place to do so. As a solution to this problem, SAVE A BABY, a Sri Lankan (national level) voluntary social service organization made up of professionals, has discussed this matter with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and has opened a special US Dollar Account at the Union Place branch of People’s Bank. Any person living abroad may contribute money to this account to help save many precious lives.

Arrangements have been made to purchase essential medicine directly from pharmaceutical companies and have it shipped to Sri Lanka using the money within this account. Donations from abroad are credited to this account as US Dollars and cannot be credited in Rupees. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has given SAVE A BABY Organization the necessary permission to make payments directly to the relevant pharmaceutical companies using the money you donate. Through this method, it will be possible to purchase essential medicine without any delay and therefore save many lives.
Each donation will be used to save precious lives directly with full transparency throughout the process. Purchases of essential medicine and equipment are made only on the recommendations of a technical committee made up of a panel of specialists. The technical committee is as follows:

1. Consultant Neonatologist Dr. L.P.C Saman Kumara – Castle Street Hospital for Women.
2. Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist Dr. U.D.P Ratnasiri – Castle Street Hospital for Women
3. Consultant Emergency Care Medicine Dr. Nandana Jayathilaka – Peradeniya Teaching Hospital
4. Transplant Surgeon Dr. Ruwan Dissanayake – National Hospital – Colombo
